Meet the Architects: So-IL

SO – IL was founded in 2008 by Dutch architect Florian Idenburg and Chinese architect Jing Liu. The practice is renowned for its innovative, context-sensitive designs that enrich cultural and social spaces. 
Recent projects include 144 Vanderbilt, a residential development distinguished by its sculptural façade and seamless integration into the urban fabric; 450 Warren Street, an apartment complex noted for its thoughtful design and considered use of materials; and the Amant Arts Campus, a cultural incubator comprising studios, galleries and performance spaces. 
SO – IL combines practice and research, placing particular emphasis on collaboration, social engagement and the creation of community-focused architecture.
